This section has memories, obituaries, photos going back to our first postmaster, and many others. Here is the Shackleford branch of the National Fire Service, which during the Second World War used to meet in The Coach House at the corner of Chalk Lane. I’ve heard that the fireman on watch used to sleep in the hay loft above.
