Hamlets

Shackleford is merely the largest of a cluster of hamlets and small villages with links through history, geography or the Church. Links that used to be close, such as those with Eashing and Hurtmore, have to a great extent been broken by the dualling of the A3, and those hamlets now look more to Godalming than to Shackleford. Nevertheless many older people have fond memories of attending St Mary’s School or taking part in the pageants at Peper Harow, and so they are included here as part of our joint heritage.
