The Class of 1891
This 1891 photo was kindly supplied by John Holland and includes both his grandmother Louisa Snelling (later Newell) and her sister Lucy Maria Snelling. Louisa’s great uncle, Towns Brewster, was listed in the 1861, 1871 and 1881 census returns as resident at Shackleford Post Office with the occupation of gardener and postman, so he was probably our first Postmaster.
