On church carvings – an illustrated pamphlet

When St Mary’s was so new as to still be known as ‘the church in the wood’ the Society for the Propogation of Christian Knowledge brought out a little pamphlet on church carvings. Although St Mary’s, Shackleford, isn’t specifically named in the tract it is clear from the photos and descriptions that ours is the church being described.
