Charcoal Lodge, Elstead Road

This little bungalow sits just at the entrance to Peper Harow. Possibly it was the site of charcoal burning for use in the nearby lime kiln, less than 100 yards away.

The photo was taken in the 1990s when a very keen gardener occupied the house.
