My Great Grandfather Edward WADHAM (born Chettle Dorset 1864) worked as head gardener at Burdon Hall (now Granton House) in the 1930s. He and his wife Alice lived in the cottage. Edward’s daughter Alice Mabel WADHAM married George William SMITHERS a resident of the village at St Mary’s on the 23rd January 1935. Your website showed me that both Edward WADHAM and George SMITHERS were church wardens and indeed are buried in the churchyard.
I would be very grateful if you had any further information on my relatives, I was rather hoping an old parish magazine would have photos of them as I have none of my own. Any thing relevant that would shed more light on them would be most welcome.
