1944 Auction

It has been said that there were two sales. At first someone bought the plots, stripped out the timber and re-sold them. Certainly there is a ‘timber schedule’ showing exactly what timber was to be removed. Some of the proposed building plots never made it, such as Lot 8 which is now part of Headlands.

The Buers, who went to the sale to buy Norney Farm, wrote the price that each lot achieved at the auction and these prices can be seen alongside each lot.
