The entrance to the ice house faces Eashing Lane. The doorway is at the back of the lane but the excavated icehouse is within the parkland. The artist Mr Sturge has drawn the structure from knowledge. It is not possible to see the inside as the door is now blocked.
The supply of ice would probably have come from a pool beside the track.
Another ice house with its entrance onto a track is at Wescott: Bury Hill House, just off Milton Street.
