Eashing Forge

Eashing Forge 1910 close-upThis attractive building lies just off the A3. The frontage looks much the same as it did in the monochrome photo here, taken about 1910, but notice the enormous 150-year old horse chestnut tree, which came down in the 1960s, and the high wall in the background, which is no longer there either. In those days the blacksmith himself probably lived in Wey Cottage, down the road.
